Cowork with Enterprise-Grade IT & Secure Internet 💻⚡ | CoWorkSpace

A reliable internet connection is essential in any modern workspace, especially in a co-working environment where businesses rely on stable connectivity to operate.

At CoWorkSpace, we prioritise internet uptime and have engineered our infrastructure to balance performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

Understanding Internet Availability in Simple Terms

When discussing internet availability, two key concerns come to mind:

  1. Speed – Whether the internet is fast enough to handle work requirements.
  2. Backup Plans – What happens when the internet goes down?

We address these concerns (in technical terms) through high availability and high redundancy infrastructure.

High Availability: Keeping the Internet Running.

One way to ensure uninterrupted internet access is by using multiple service providers and distributing traffic between them—a process known as load balancing.

When accessing various websites or online services, certain requests are routed through one provider (Provider A), while others utilise a different provider (Provider B). The system manages this in the background.

While this setup improves reliability, some services require a fixed external IP address to function correctly. Applications like cPanel, Webmail, and VoIP may log users out when they detect a change in the IP address, which happens during load balancing.

While manageable, not all setups meet every business requirement.

High Redundancy: Backup When You Need It

Another method to maintain internet stability is high redundancy, where a secondary or even a third provider is on standby. The primary provider (Provider A) handles all internet traffic under normal circumstances. If Provider A fails, Provider B or C assumes control.

Unlike load balancing, this approach ensures a smooth experience for many online services but does not increase overall speed. The only drawback is that backup connections remain unused most of the time, leading to inefficiencies in cost.

How CoWorkSpace Structures Internet Connectivity

At CoWorkSpace, we designed our IT infrastructure to ensure both reliability and efficiency.

  • We use a high redundancy setup – ensuring that if one provider goes down, another takes over with minimal disruption.
  • As memberships grow, we plan to implement a high-availability solution that maintains a consistent IP address while optimising load distribution. However, this solution is only available in select physical locations and requires technical expertise to set up.
  • Our in-house team has experience in setting up data-centre racks and enterprise networking equipment, including high-availability (HA) firewalls and HA switches from brands like FortiGate and Cisco, utilising technologies such as BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) and VRRP (Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol).
  • The design of our equipment supports both high availability and high redundancy, making future upgrades seamless.

Professionals who also work within the space built CoWorkSpace.

We understand the importance of optimal working conditions and a robust technology plan. Businesses often hesitate to invest in redundant internet setups because of the costs involved—easily $150 per provider per month, excluding equipment expenses.

However, by sharing infrastructure costs across multiple members, our co-working model ensures a stable and high-performance internet connection at a fraction of the price.

With Enterprise-Grade IT Infrastructure, you can cowork with a seamless, secure, and reliable connectivity experience.

Whether you're running an online business, hosting video conferences, or managing cloud-based applications, you can rely on CoWorkSpace for a dependable internet experience.
